I saw this show live at the o2 and was very impressed. However I am a bit disappointed in the dvd as I was hoping it would include the full show rather than an edited version in which some of the comedy genius is removed. I was particularly annoyed that the Bill Bailey set was cut short and they didn't even show the same material that was shown on the Channel 4 airing of the show. Overall the dvd is great and supports a great cause but I was unhappy with the editing.

Although the DVD cover boasts that it 'features the entire comedy extravaganza, including the bits they didn't show on TV' - it really isn't. And I should know as I was there. Quite a few sets were cut short, even when they contained no material that might be deemed offensive (Bill Bailey and Kevin Eldon's version of Hallelujah/Last Christmas in German immediately springs to mind. Even parts of their set broadcast on Channel 4 aren't on the DVD...) which was a great disappointment as many of the omitted gags were the reason I, and many others I know, bought the DVD.

On the other hand, the range of comedians and the pure, unstoppable humour of the evening is absolutely worth 5 Stars - although hearing "How are you all doing?" 30-40 times does wear a bit thin - a fact Jack Dee actually commented on towards the end of the night in his typical grumpy style.

Apparently a comedy gala 2011 is being planned so to the powers that be:
Don't edit some of the highlights out and then promote it as the entire show or you will have some very dissatisfied customers.

Loved this DVD as you get to watch a wide range of comedic talent in Britian at the moment. I loved the fact they included not just stand up comedians but slipped in shows such as Peep Show. This DVD will appeal to a wide range of tastes as there is humour for everyone- it introduced me to acts I hadnt really heard of. Jimmy Carr's hijack of the adverts is also a clever idea and i enjoyed the addition as i didnt get to see the showing on Channel 4. The only thing that seems lacking which I didnt realise until i read other reviews is that some of the show was cut- a pity but never mind- still a good DVD.

As I was in the audience, last night the 30th of March 2010 up at the o2 arena I feel that this dvd will be an excellent thing for many people to own.

Obviously not everyones taste in comedy is the same, but for those of you who like Jack Dee, Lee Evans, Sean Lock, Michael McIntyre, James Corden, Ruth Jones, Rich Hall, Rob Brydon, Alan Carr, Andy Parsons, Bill Bailey, Catherine Tate, Jo Brand etc etc then from your fave comedians and many more theres bound to be lots to get your comedic taste buds tingling.

Many of the acts were completely overwhelmed at doing the o2 including Johnathon Ross who away from the prying eyes of Auntie (The B.B.C.) decided to encite the entire audience of the o2 to yell out a "certain" word, which if it doesn't see the cutting room floor will see the DVD reclassified from 15 to 18.

Also will be interesting to see if they cut out Michael McIntyre being chased literally, off stage by Alex Reid.

The dvd in aid of Great Ormond Street Hospital is bound to be an enormous crowd pleaser and will fill all your homes with plenty of laughs and comedy.
