Great sound from this

I bought this because my flat screen TV's sound is kinda weird. I have a/c in the windows so the fan is loud. The TV sound goes up, but at a certain point it does not increase very much. So I got the sound bar hoping it would do better. It does.
It has a great sound coming from it, you can tell it's louder than the TV and blends in with the TV so it's almost invisible. (Black on black)
I wanted a wireless sub woofer, but the ones I looked at cost more than I was willing to spend, not sure if they would do what I wanted. Most of them had their own remotes also. I like that this one is controlled by my TV remote.
My only complaint is when I mute the TV, depending on how long it's muted, the sound bar goes off also and can take up to 15 seconds (it seems) to come back on. During that time I can barely hear the TV and might miss something.
But overall I'm very happy with the purchase.

Nice slimline form, some problems

After searching around for the best deal on a soundbar with subwoofer this one fit the bill, sounds good and adjusting with the tv's volume is a nice feature, though is is important to note if your tv does not have a variable audio out (meaning when you plug in aux speakers, the tv volume changes that volume, most are constant meaning these speakers will NOT work)
PROS:
-slimline design
-auto on/off
-sounds good
CONS:
-unit gives a constant hissing sound, even with no audio source playing. Thought it was defective but after receiving my replacement it makes the same sound, annoying but if the volume is up enough you dont hear it
-auto on/off isnt sensitive enough to stay on at low volumes, when i turn my tv down to night time listening levels, the unit turns off unless i turn it up, which is kind of annoying
Overall, for a bedroom unit or something along those lines I would recommend this unit, but for so much for the main living room.

not ready for prime time

The problems I had the first day during setup have been constant. I am several times per week required to shut everything off, unplug then re-plug in the correct order and about 20 percent of the time when I do that I still get no results. The issues are numerous: the unit randomly switches itself to another source; at times it will not come on at all; at others it will play only one source but not allow the switching to others; most common is the fact that I must, upon turning on the TV, switch to another input, wait a few moments then switch back to TV and then only about 80 percent of the time will I get sound; oh, sometimes it just goes off (and my TV switches to its own speakers only part of that time). I suspect that despite my expensive hi-speed cables and all that, this just isn't well made/executed. I'd say it has poorly designed circuitry.
This product is not ready for consumer use. I have battled with it for 9 months now and unfortunately today, when I decided I'd had enough, I realized Amazon will not accept the return. Argh. Maybe Sharp will.
