More About the Author

Lindsey is the best-selling author of Change Your Life with NLP, Change Your Business with NLP, Still 25 Inside and Lose Weight with NLP.

She began her career in local government before becoming a change consultant for one of the top global firms in 1994. There she learnt about the art of people change both from an organisational and individual level. She started her NLP journey in 1997 when she wanted to improve her own performance in meetings with large numbers of grey-suited men. In 2005, she founded The Change Corporation. She now spends her time consulting on change projects, coaching senior executives, running open NLP programmes and public speaking. She is well-respected for getting results and improving performance. She also loves to write and enjoys the opportunity to share her experiences with larger audiences. Her personal vision is to become a leader in the development field and to assist organisations and individuals to perform at their highest level of potential.

In June 2012, she became a Master Trainer of NLP, the first female to be accredited with this level of excellence with the American Board of NLP in the UK. At the moment she's focusing on developing a new brand called 'Age with Attitude'. It's for mid-life women everywhere who want to lead their lives with Purpose, Passion and to their full Potential. Her book 'Still 25 Inside' promotes the 8 Attitudes of the Successful Mid-Life Woman and shows how to develop this mindset. She is also planning an audio version of Still 25 Inside during 2013.

Originally from the East End of London, she now lives in Sandwich, East Kent. She also spends much of her writing time from her much loved apartment overlooking the sea in Turkey!

Influence in an organisation is a subtle thing, and relies as much on ones powers of observation as being able to use the right words in the right situation. Whereas this book will do nothing for your powers of observation, it will help you understand how to phrase things.

This will not appeal to the experienced change manager or professionals who are used to dealing with organisational change on a daily basis, but it will appeal to middle managers who need to make a start in the influencing game. You will need to buy other books that are more focused on a step-by-step instruction, but this book is a good primer for those taking their first dip.

I have been a fan of NLP for years now but in the medical and counselling field. The science behind NLP is to deconstruct language and look for excellence to model and it works across many many areas and this particular book focuses on the business field.

There are many very good questions in this book like 'What would you do if you knew your business couldn't fail?' which was one I spent a day working through in my head.

A very very good read, easy to pick up and hard to put down and one of those books you'll keep going back to.

A good price and strongly recommended.

Either you like business books or you don't. I tend to dislike them for their shallowness or their hysterical evangelism. The lack of these qualities makes 'Change Your Business With NLP' one of the better offerings out there. It's largely jargon-free, and the advice it offers is structured, practical and realistic. Unlike most books in this genre, you get the impression that the author has some understanding of what it's like to work in a modern business organisation.

Neuro-Linguistic Programming is sneered at by many (Derren Brown is particularly dismissive), but this book uses it as a practical tool to understand how people think - and to organise your own thinking - rather than a piece of transformative magic that will help you bend unsuspecting victims to your will. It uses NLP as a means to an end rather than an end in itself, and stays focused on the object of improving your organisation's effectiveness without turning you into a management evangelist who thinks he's Yoda.

To some of us, NLP is something you know by name if not by effect.
I got this book and on the plus side it is very easy to read, and at times quite inspirational. It makes you think about work situations in a different manner and perhaps this is what NLP is designed for
However... to the more cynical of us (i.e me) this is just a series of very interesting but very obvious common sense questions.

I might very well be missing the point and this could be all there is to it but I do consider this book to be nothing really new. A series of interesting questions / dilemmas for you to ponder. It is like a mantra a day.

Nothing wrong with it, and it did indeed make me ponder a few points but I don't feel my business life will have been sufficiently changed

I have worked in Change Management and have over 100 days of NLP training so I was looking forward to this book. So often NLP books and training are great on personal performance but lacking in terms of how to apply this to organisations. Unfortunately I didn't get any insight from the book and actually found it boring. I put off writing the review for some considerable time because I didn't feel I had given the book enough of a chance. Now, I've gone through it a second time and if possible I am even less impressed. I have given it two stars because it covers some concepts adequately but you can do better elsewhere.

This is a great book for people who are new to NLP and try to and see how it can be applied in the business world. It is an easy read, but you would not build a business case of the back of it. There is no formal learning techniques taught in the book, there are however lots of buzz words and terminologies such as getting to your "Brilliant zone" way of thinking.

Anyone interested in learning the concept of NLP would be better off reading a dedicated NLP book if they want to learn about mind uncoding, and understanding behaviours, influencing etc, as this book does not focus that much on those things.

This is a brilliant and much needed book exploring the application of NLP to organisational performance improvement.

It is the first book to clearly make the connection between NLP and change management, organisation development and performance improvement.

Very clearly written with great anecdotes and an array of really powerful and practical tools.

A MUST read for any manager or consultant who is focused on organisational change and/or performance improvement.

Really not sure about this book. Being a small business owner I was looking for a lot in terms of inspiration, specific advice and ideas to propel my business to the next level. I didn't find what I was looking for however. I have studied NLP and gotten a Master Practitioner certification so was looking forward to some phenomenal or at least powerful tools from this book. A good effort but needs more...
