Review

Compelling (INDEPENDENT)

Charting new territory, this book is likely to be controversial and debated within medical circles. The book is not sentimental or mawkish and, unlike many of its genre, does not evoke either sadness or anger. It is undoubtedly a book about survival. T (MEDICINE WEEKLY) --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.

Has any book made me cry so much before? Claire Sylvia knows which words best describe her incredible life-changing experience and she is not afraid to use them! We cry with her, we laugh with her, we despair, rejoice and wonder with her. From the beginning to the end we follow her onto the path of her new life, and what a new life it is.Following a massive heart and lungs transplant, she discovers new tastes for drinks, food, even women! Who is she now? Where is the old Claire she knew so well? Is the person who "gave" her his heart and lungs somehow still with her? Or have his organs inherited some memory of their own? Possible answers are explored at the end of the book, not my favourite part as I thought it too technical, but an unforgettable read nonetheless!

This book was an excellent read. It is very easy to read and very thought provoking. For those who have lost someone, i think this book could actually be comforting to them as it describes how life can live on even when we die. A note to all - death is the most natural part of life; it is something which we all share and should not be feared! Other books which can help to put the pieces of the puzzle together include THE BIOLOGY OF BELIEF by Dr Bruce Lipton, SPONTANEOUS EVOLUTION by Dr Bruce Lipton; HOW YOUR MIND CAN HEAL YOUR BODY by Dr David Hamilton; THE DIVINE MATRIX by Gregg Braden. I have read all of these books and highly recommend them. Peace to all!!
