5.0 out of 5 stars A remarkable record, a remarkable evolution 24 Mar 2002
Format:Audio CD
'Change' is a brilliant album, far surpassing everything else that the 'Plan have produced. It runs a gamut of emotions and eclectic musical styles to the point where it'd be wrong to call it, or compare it to punk or hardcore. It's more...funk...but don't let that put you off! It's accessible (less confusing time changes than previously), catchy and slightly pop, the standout tracks being Face of the Earth, Superpowers, Following Through, Come Home...oh, almost all of them. Just buy it. You'll like it...

5.0 out of 5 stars If Carlsberg made music... 12 Mar 2004
Format:Audio CD
While not as good as their previous record "Emergency & I" this is still one of the greatest records ever to come out of the American underground. Substituting their former eclecticness for a more cohesive, considered sound puts more importance on Travis' photographic lyrics. Pitchfork said it best when they challenged anybody in their twenties not to feel every word he sings/speaks on this record.

I would say buy Emergency & I before this record though. While the are both great records I would consider their previous work to be the best American indie record ever... Though if you have the money you should buy both. In fact even if you don't have the money you should buy both...

4.0 out of 5 stars Pretty good but not brilliant 12 Feb 2002
By A Customer
Format:Audio CD
This is a pretty good album but it lacks the finishing touch. The best tracks are time bomb and come home. The bass riffs are fairly quick and heavy, but won't get you jumping up and down like other punk bands, such as fenix tx or pennywise. There are some good guitar solos but they don't have that cutting edge like fletcher from pennywise does. I would buy this album if you like the style that it is, but i prefer something heavier and faster.
