Centred around the events of a declining review bar and its regeneration, a young man comes of age and finds his first love whilst looking for his estranged, abusive father. Through dark humour and strong characterisation the book is not only eye opening but also manages to capture a truly unique time in popular culture.
From the Author
The inspiration for this novel came in various forms, starting with its initial inception as a stageshow by the same name in a theatre bar, most noteably inspired by alcohol.
Whilst not overtly political, it is intentionally a social commentary, which, regardless of genre, is about the shared experiences of being human.
It is a narrative that is meant to be felt and lived, and follows in the well-worn steps of Ginsberg, Kerouac and the rest of the Beat Writers.
