Format:VHS Tape
I bought the video simply because it is Hugh Grant and having enjoyed all his movies looked for lesser known Made for TV starring roles. Being one of Hugh's more mature fans my liking for him does not necessarily mean I think him a great actor but an enjoyable one to watch. Having said that, you may believe me when I say that Champagne Charlie is to me one of the best roles he has ever done. He plays Charles Heidsieck to perfection. A must for Hugh Grant fans and for those who are not -settle down on a winters evening and enjoy the true story of the Frenchman who crosses the Atlantic and gets caught up in the dangerous world of the American civil war - and a passionate affair - before he achieves his ambition. This is over 3 hours of sheer enjoyment.

This is a great little known Hugh Grant Movie about a man trying to open up the champagn market just prior the Civil War.It should be released on DVD at a more affordable price!!!!!!1

Happened to catch this on TV. It is so bad I thought it was a comedy. Truly one of the worst TV movies ever. Music, writing, acting, production value hysterically awful. Can't believe Hugh Grant was ever this bad.

This is a great DVD featuring Hugh Grant. Very
enjoyable story about a affluent young man who's travels bring him
to the scene of many historical events in Europe and the
USA in his endeavors to sell his champagne. He constantly
struggles for ownership of the champagne land with his
uncle.
