"Card games expert Peter Arnold shows you why card games are still the family's favorite pasttime." --"Spartanburg Herald-Journal"

About the Author
Peter Arnold is an author and editor, most of whose 50 or so books concern sports and games. Several of his books are on table games, including some on individual card games, and he has written three books on gambling, one of which was described by a New York author as 'the best history of gambling'. He is the author of four other Chambers card games books.
This is a brilliant book, covering 50 family card games. There are games that ones remembers from childhood, refreshing your memory on the rules - Snap, Old Maid, Go Fish, but even more were new to me Bango, Twenty-Nine, Pig, Golf, Stealing Bundles... and some have become new family favourites.
There are clear explanation of the rules, skill factors and showing example hands to illustrate them. The index is also good because you can either look for Games by Age of players (From Six years), Games for number of players and Games by alternative names.
We've discovered how much fun you can have several evenings a week before the children go to bed without the telly !
I defiantly recommend this addition for hours of family fun !
if families were forbidden to use Nintendos and Play Stations, and were obliged to take this book on holiday instead, then western society would have a future. great....
I bought this as a family Christmas present and it was great value for money. The rules are easy to understand and the games are indexed in order of either age of players or number of players. Which is great for choosing games to learn. We have played loads of card games since Christmas some which I vaguely remembered from my childhood and others that are new to me.
