This latest Not Now 2 CD set presents an artist well known to many. Jacques Romain Georges Brel (1929 - 1978) was a Belgian singer and songwriter who also made a number of movies too. The quality and style of his lyrics were highly regarded and his performances have been popular with many generations of fans. His songs have been performed by many major artists including Ray Charles, Frank Sinatra, Nina Simone, Rod McKuen, The Kingston Trio and many more. The recordings here date from 1954 to 1958 and include some of the most recognisable of his songs. The running times are CD1 46 minutes and CD2 47 minutes. The sound quality is very good and the liner notes come from Michael Heatley.
