Product Description

'I rehabilitate dogs. I train people.' - Cesar Millan.

In CESAR'S WAY, Cesar Millan - US dog expert and star of National Geographic Channel's hit show Dog Whisperer with Cesar Millan - helps you see the world through the eyes of your dog so you can finally eliminate problem behaviours. You'll learn:
· What your dog really needs may not be what you're giving him
· Why a dog's natural pack instincts are the key to your happy relationship
· How to relate to your dog on a canine level
· There are no 'problem breeds', just problem owners
· Why every dog needs a job
· How to choose a dog who's right for you and your family
· And much more!
Filled with fascinating anecdotes about Cesar's long-term clients, and including forewords by the president of the International Association of Canine Professionals and film star Jada Pinkett Smith, this is the only book you'll need to forge a new, more rewarding connection with your four-legged companion. 5.0 out of 5 stars This book saved my rescue from rehoming., 15 Jan 2008
What can I say, we had just about reached the end of our tether and were facing the heartbreak of trying to find another home for our rescue dog because her protective, guarding, fear aggression was escalating and we found this hard to manage, then I read this book from cover to cover in a week, I couldn't put it down. Every aspect of our dogs behaviour was shown and clear common sense answers given, both to why this was happening and what to do to correct it. We followed the rules and I'm not joking within a week we saw dramatic positive changes and now despair has turned to hope. We have a wonderful dog who is learning to trust us to protect her,we have a way to go but now I know we'll do it and she'll stay with the family who love her (a bit too much I now realise!). This man truly knows his stuff and not once have I had to use anything bordering on cruelty just rules and boundaries like those kids need to feel secure.Read it, enjoy it, even if your dog is balanced you'll learn something of benefit and if you have problems the answers are here, just open your mind to a different way of loving a dog, I promise my dog has chilled already and long may it continue Thankyou Cesar Milan from us,our kids and especially our dog!

3.0 out of 5 stars If you only read ONE dog book, read this one, BUT...., 21 July 2007

.... if you've already read quite a few, you won't find this one radically different from Jan Fennell et. al. It's basically another book about how dogs should be treated as though they are members of your pack, and so on and so forth.

The main difference between this book and a few of the others I've read is the amount of emphasis that is put on taking your dog for a long walk, every day, early in the day. That alone was a revelation to me (evening dog walker) and has made a difference to my pair.

5.0 out of 5 stars Conformed character, 27 Jun 2008

(REAL NAME)
Since taking in a cocker spaniel puppy two and a half years ago, I read every conceivable training manual and book, and still ended up with a bossy, dominant, 'naughty' although very loving companion. He would pull on walks, steal food from work surfaces and plates, jump up at visitors, bark hysterically at the front door.... the list goes on.

I took this book on holiday, and couldn't put it down or wait to get home and put his advice into action.

Training started immediately upon collecting Ralphie from the kennels; not having eye contact and waiting until he was calm-submissive before making a fuss; we haven't looked back.

Unlike many other 'training' books, Cesar Millan explains HOW he brings dogs round, not just that he did. I particularly liked his description of his own upbringing as it helped me understand the mindset, and although I wondered at the start if he would ever get into the tips and wrinkles of leading your pack, all the information was necessary to understand fully the concept of 'dog whispering'.

Like many other reviewers, I think this book should be issued with each dog; it would certainly have saved me a few tears!
