Product Description

THE FLYING DUTCHMAN JAZZ & CLASSICS SERIES Three CDs kick off BGP's new Flying Dutchman Jazz Classics series, the aim being to deliver classic and rare albums from the label, most of which have been unavailable for many years and previously not on CD. All are taken from original source tapes, and will feature bonus material when available. All sport the original artwork plus fresh sleeve notes. One of the great lost Latin soul albums of the 1970s Cesar 830 is an anomaly within the Flying Dutchman catalogue. Recorded by Cesar Ascarrunz, a Bolivian expat and San Francisco nightclub owner, it is collected today for the soul dancer See Saw Affair . It is however a wonderful blend of many latin styles. Produced by Flying Dutchman owner Bob Thiele, arranged by Miles Davis producer Teo Macero, the personnel include Hadley Caliman, Merle Saunders, and Francisco Aquabella. Vocals are by Linda Tillery, known for her time with cult San Francisco band Loading Zone. Never before released on CD.
