It is the only ipod dock with CD player built-in, comes with nice glossy piano paint, I would think it is glossy plastic box but it is indeed wooden body, which gives great sound. When the unit arrived (sent by DHL express), I was well pleased with it, the unit is a piece of furniture and fits in very nicely in any modern environment. I had seen the other reports regrading the front panel issues but decided to order anyway. So far I have not had the same issues that others have expressed since i have switched my iPhone to Airplane mode to avoid noise, it is also perfect with my sister's iPod touch. Don't know if it is a problem with their unit or a batch fault but mine is fine and dandy. In the last 2 months I have 2 units so far (one for my sister) they came with different retail boxes, i was told they are different batches, Hope this helps those of you who are considering this unit.

Well, first of all I got the wrong version of the product. I ordered the one with CD player, but got one with SD card and memory stick slots. After considering what to do due to expensive to send back all the hassle, takes time to get the new one etc., I decided to keep the one I got. The seller promised to change or give fair compensation.
About the product. First hicup was that the remote didn't work. Had to open the remcon and fiddle with the string that contacts the battery and got it working.
After all the hassle I'm happy with the product. Good sound and functionalities, works fine at least with iPhone 3. Without the hassle would have given full stars, due to good price vs.quality. Maybe will order another for upstairs.

This is the best docking station I ever had, since it has got glossy piano paint, integrated CD player, FM radio and audio in. It is made of wood (someone would think it is pastic because of the piano paint), make this docking station classic. I have also noticed the MFI mark, this means it has passed the Apple certification. I think it is quite difficult to make something like this, as the CD player must have some anti-shock mechanism to avoid disruption caused by the heavy bass sound. For the price i think it is well worth the money spent.
