Review

Part girl. Part railgun. All awesome. Extracting the two most charismatic characters and giving them their own manga series was a stroke of genius. --Wakaranai Animu Blog

Happy that she thinks she has solved the problem of her clones, Mikoto Misaka meets Touma Kamijou again but her mood is soon soured when she once again meets one of her clones and discovers her previous actions were unsuccessful. In her desperation Mikoto returns to increasingly desperate methods to stop the experiments.

This sixth volume of the 'A Certain Scientific Railgun' manga continues the greatly entertaining 'Sisters' arc as it approaches its climax. The volume is very good, advancing the plot of the arc nicely with the addition of Touma (recently rendered amnesic due to the events of the first arc of 'A Certain Magical Index') driving things forward and getting involved in some good action towards the end of the volume (which, in my opinion, is handled a lot better here than in the Index manga). Before this though, Misaka's increasing desperation in trying to stop the Level 6 Shift Project is shown very well and there are some quite emotional moments at various points.

The only real problem with this volume is the lack of explanation of things that happened in 'A Certain Magical Index' but as most of these are, for the most part, relatively minor points this is only a minor complaint.

As bonus material, this volume includes the usual 4-koma comedy strips and a preview of the manga 'Haganai: I Don't Have Many Friends'.

Overall this was an excellent volume of 'A Certain Scientific Railgun' and is easily worth a full five stars.

I sent this to my granddaughter, for a belated Birthday gift. She called and thanked me when she received it. She was so happy to receive it because I found out she was a big fan of this graphic novel. I did call her before I ordered it to see how far she was in the series. Once I knew that I ordered the one she needed next.

Espers, pychos and clones, oh my! 14 Jan. 2013

If you have watched A Certain Magical Index, this is where the manga for Railgun intersects. Personally, I think Acelerator is even more of a pycho than in the television series. It has an entertaining fight. Then again, it's hard to go wrong with violence in manga.
