The Mouse Pad has a smooth surface that improves the functionality of both ball mice and optical mice. When connected to your computer's USB port a soft blue light radiates from the mouse pad, lighting up your workspace. The 4 Hi-Speed USB 2.0 ports on the mouse pad allow you to connect high-speed devices such as Media Readers, Flash Drives and External Hard Drives.
The Mouse Pad is backwards compatible with USB 1.1 and can also be connected to Full-Speed and Low-Speed devices, such as your mouse, keyboard or USB printer. Installation is a breeze, simply Plug-and-Play. The Cross Hair mouse pad can also be used as a monitor stand providing a focal point for your system whilst adding 4 surface USB ports. Fun:
The main reason I bought the crossfire mouse pad was because of the 4-port usb hub, as I use a large number of usb devices. Upon removing the item from its high-quality packaging I plugged it in. It was immediately recognised and the pad lit up. The lighting is done well; it even shines out of the back of the usb ports. The surface itself is also very nice, my ball mouse runs along it far better than any cheap mouse mat.
However, I then attempted to plug my usb key into the hub. It recognised it, but a message appeared warning me that there wasn't enough power available to operate it. Determined not to be disappointed, I tried my mp3 player, with the same result.
If you're not intending to use the hub feature of this product, or don't mind fitting a costly extra power supply; go for it, it's brilliant.

because I am not young any more, I find this mouse pad with the extra 4 usb sockets
at hand when I wish to use extra appliances like camera or earphone use.
I had one given me long ago but thought the lighting around the perimeter really nice.
Happy with what I purchased and can recommend if you really need extra usb without the struggle.
