A Real Treat 14 Oct 2003
Format:Hardcover
A good, thick book, with loads and loads of good colour photographs of figures. It's not interesting as "A Directory of Artists" but who cares? It doesn't tell you much about the artists, but who actually wants to read the text of art books anyway? Minimal text, maximum pictures - just the job. What it does give, is a huge visual collection of studio ceramic figures, ranging broadly in time, country of origin, and style. There are a few weirdies, that leave you asking "Who would actually want to buy that?" But there are also very, very many that have a real WOW! factor - "How brilliant to have thought of doing that!" Inspiration for the artist, and a visual entertainment for anyone.
