My dear sweet Nible Kimble, I love Girls Aloud and you come across as the sweetest, most down to earth and lovely person. But oh dear dear dear.
I am a singer and singing teacher, and I will be keeping this CD, but only so I can play it to my students to illustrate exactly how one can sing a song very 'nicely' hitting the notes and keeping time, and yet give it no originality or personality at all.
Anne Hathaway has just proved that the notes and the words of a song are only the beginning, and underneath them you can find all manner of emotions, layers and subtleties. I am afraid in this cd you have managed to do none of this. Anne also showed us not to be afraid to move away from how others have sung a song before and find your own truth. Your versions were derivative and tired.
I also don't know who did your arrangements but they are tinny and amature sounding, get yourself a better team and a better vocal coach. It is not that you don't have a lovely voice, you are just not using it or your emotions to sell a song well.
I am truly sorry to give this only one star because I have always liked you and I adored you in Strictly. I think perhaps you had better stick to the dancing and singing in a vibrant pop group and give the solo Musical Theatre a miss.
