4.0 out of 5 stars Strange but good 21 Mar 2011
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
What started out in the first book as alternate history suddenly becomes SF/Fantasy. There are two strands, the Battle for London and the Battle for Mars but it all ends very quickly, with confusion and loose ends. A sequel perhaps?

5.0 out of 5 stars Best of the three 4 April 2013

But there are gaps to be filled. What happens to Murdoch et al after leaving Mars. What about Britain Vs. Germany and the Confederacy. Oh, and did John Murdoch and Jane Archer get together. Usually these type of stories have a burgeoning love story but, I digress. Hopefully it will be explained in the offshoot books but still, I really would recommend this book.

3.0 out of 5 stars Dull 3 May 2013

I just wish this story could have moved faster
Great story with good plot and some fine ideas
maybe some nicked from somewhere else but hey can't hold that against a story teller
just wish they had got a good editor

2.0 out of 5 stars pretty awful 22 April 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
What began as a pretty reasonable alternate history, despite the lack of some editing, rapidly degenerated. Dark magic, demons, time travel and other dimensions all appear suddenly. I got the impression that that the authors ran out of ideas.
