5.0 out of 5 stars Sceamin' vocals, HONKing saxes, walin' bands! Man this JUMPS 20 Feb 2004
By Paco Rivera - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Audio CD
If you only own one JUMP BLUES cd it should be this. All this music was recorded in the sleasiest part of downtown Watts in a basement studio. And this music swing, were talking boogie woogie piano playing, honking, squeeking, and wailing alto saxaphones and marvelous vocals. Some of these combo bands went on to fame in L.A. like the Thre Blazers and Floyd Dixon. One of the best songs on here is " all the songs are perfect for swing dancing, jitterbugging, lindy hopping... This cd wil lappeal also to rockabilyl fans. this is small combo jump blues R&B at it's best! All of these sides were fro ma small label in Watts called COMBO!! soem rare and HOT stuff!
