...a "colossal waste of time".

As with anything from which you can derive some form of enjoyment, this book becomes tantamount to useless once read. Only that which directly benefits and contributes to society in a useful manner (for an idea of what fulfils these criteria, I suggest you contact the author) can be considered laudable. Roads,I can imagine, are a good example. Not books about roads, though - the actual roads themselves are what matter.

I can only mention that thank goodness this object is not available as either an audio-visual format (i.e. DVD) or an interactive medium (computer game), for then any purchasers would find themselves on a downward spiral from which there can be no escape, until they finally arrived at their destination. Populated by under-age mothers and heroin addicts, apparently.

My editor, because I'm such an arse that I can't make journalistic decisions for myself, asked me to review this book even though I am decrepit and don't understand Asia. I didn't read it or even look into it as I'm completely arrogant. If anyone from Asia wants to take this point up with me then don't because that would be colossal waste of time
