Product Description

Professional highly accurate digital thermometer reads to 2 decimal places + FREE FERTILITYPLAN CHART with every order.

How does a basal digital thermometer help?

Basically there is a slight temperature drop just before ovulation occurs and then a distinct temperature rise of about 0.40 to 1.00 degrees Celsius (Centigrade) after ovulation takes place. By plotting your temperature change during your cycle you will know when you have ovulated.

By WeyHey
I bought this thermometer (and chart) in the hope of replacing a previously bought (and cheaper) Basal Body Thermometer /BBT but it's not good enough.
My original thermometer only took temperatures to one decimal place where as this thermometer ( Geon Corp brand) sold by Home Health is to two decimal places. I decided to use both thermometers at the same time until the end of my present cycle (one always on the left of my mouth and one on the right) but the Geon thermometer constantly showed different temperatures to my original - mostly higher temps but sometimes lower. I am not sure which thermometer is correct but my original thermometer shows more stable and gradual temps where as the Geon one shows my temps as being all over the place. The most annoying thing about the Geon thermometer and the reason for my low review rating is the memory - it only remembers your last temperature reading once and only for a few seconds so this poorly working feature is worse than if it had no memory!!! My original thermometer saves my last temperature reading until you take a new one no matter how many times you turn it on and off. The reached temperature reading beep on the Geon is also very low and it doesn't have a backlight which means I have to turn on a light to write down the reading.

Geon Digital Themometer Pro's
- Cheap
- Reads to .2 decimal places

Geon Digital Themometer Con's
- Memory remembers for 2 seconds and only once which is worse than if it had no memory.
- No backlight so on dark mornings you need to turn on the light to see reading.
- Reached temperature Beep is very low

The single fertility chart supplied with the thermometer was unfortunately also impossible to use correctly as the temperature range only went up to 36.55 and my post ovulation temperatures are within 3 ranges above this which I believe is quite common for a lot of women.

If I had known what I know now about this thermometer and chart I wouldn't have bought them.

I bought this BBT thermometer as my previous one only read to one decimal place. Although it says on the instructions that it can take up to 90 seconds to read your temperature, it seems to take about 10 - 20 seconds normally. It beeps when it's ready and if you turn it off without recording your temp, don't worry as it shows the most recent reading when you next turn it on. Top marks really as it does exactly what it says on the tin.

Not the best chart 9 Feb 2012

The thermometer is fab but the chart doesn't go above 36.75 and my base temp is 35.85 so no good for me thats the only reason I left out 1 star.
