Sadly disappointing 28 Mar 2009
Format:Audio CD
A long time ago, I purchased Celtic Twilight: Lullabies (third disc in the series) from a quaint shop in the country. Over the years, I've grown to adore every part of it, the disc being perfect to listen to as the wife and I wind down in readiness to sleep. Recently, I thought it would be a good idea to delve further in to the series, so logically I started with the original first album, Celtic Twilight. Sadly, I now regret this purchase because it's nothing like Lullabies. Every track, bar two, on Celtic Twilight are instrumental, most of them rather mediocre in my view; Lullabies is composed of tracks sung hauntingly by various female singers - they're all absolutely gorgeous. So now, rather than think about buying the entire series, I only intend getting one other...Celtic Twilight 7, which I think might have some of the quality of Lullabies. There are certainly better chill out celtic albums about than Celtic Twilight...I do wonder how this album managed to spawn six others!
