On a coaching journey through the Highlands this was played to us by the driver.
Normally I dislike being made to listen to other people's choice of music but on this occasion it proved to be just right.

Format:Audio CD
I adore most of what Phil Coulter does, and this is some of the best. I came upon my first Phil Coulter collection by accident, someone was playing it in a market and I was hooked. It is what I call 'travelling music' so calming when driving, but not soporific. All the classic Celtic stuff is here - but I particularly like 'The Old Man' and 'The Fields of Athenry' which is almost a second Irish National Anthem. Easy listening of the highest quality. I was so smitten I bought a copy for my sister and she was delighted - 'never heard of Phil Coulter, isn't he great?' she said. Even my husband likes it, and his taste and mine can be quite diverse. A good album for those who want traditional music arranged and played with feeling.

I find this CD okay, but not great. The songs seem to have been rather randomly selected and put together - the album doesn't have much consistency in my opinion. Also the album isn't exactly my imagined idea of tranquility.
