Product Description

Product Description

In this visually stunning full-length comic book story of Celtic Football Club, Tommy Canning conveys through his superb illustrations the rich history of the Glasgow club from its founding and early years through to the present day. The landmark moments in the club's history are proudly recounted, including Brother Walfrid's efforts to start a football team to help the poor, the lifting of the European Cup, the winning of nine league titles in a row under Jock Stein and the breathtaking road to the UEFA Cup final in Seville in 2003. The Celtic Story also brings to life many of the club's past greats - players such as Jimmy Quinn, Patsy Gallacher, John Thomson, Jimmy McGrory, Charlie Tully, Jock Stein and the Lisbon Lions - and celebrates its current stars, including Aiden McGeady, Shunsuke Nakamura, Artur Boruc and Stephen McManus. In graphic detail, The Celtic Story recounts all the drama and glory of one of the world's most famous football clubs.
