Product Description

Celtic A Bhoy Called Bertie - Book

Celtic legend Bertie Auld is one of the most controversial and colourful characters in Scottish football history.

Over the decades, he has steadfastly refused to discuss his remarkable lifetime in the game - until now.

In A Bhoy Called Bertie, the legendary Lisbon Lion lifts the lid on his life and career and reveals the secrets that will astonish supporters everywhere.

Bertie Auld's autobiography is every bit as explosive and volatile as the man himself.

He never shirked a tackle as a player and there are still no holds barred long after the boots have been put away.

It's a sensational read for Celtic fans everywhere.

BERTIE AULD 16 Feb 2009
Size Name:One Size Only
Bertie's story in football was my Christmas present to me. I was a devoted fan from 1961 to 1965, when he played for Birmingham City. The book is clearly a must for Celtic supporters who want a graphic look at life in the success years of 1965 to 1972, with the Lisbon Lions at the heart of the action.
For Birmingham City devotees, however, the pages he allows for his life there are very limited. I suppose that is understandable to some extent, since his great achievements occurred at Celtic. His career in management in Scotland is well documented with a fascinating appraisal of his sale of Alan Hansen to Liverpool!
