These blankets are a great size as they allow you to fold them a number of times to create additional layers as needed depending on the room temperature and still comfortably cover the baby. Being cotton and having the cellular pattern means they are nice and breathable so less likely (in my opinion) to overheat compared to fleece covers.
I have had two of these for a year and a half since my first son was born and despite lots of hot washing they are still in perfect condition. Definitely don't want to have something that is dry clean only or requires special care when going to get messy fiarly regularly. For that reason I would recommend you have two so you have a spare while one is in the laundry.
