Julian Lloyd Webber plays these memorable melodies with warm autumnal tone and rapt emotional involvement. The pianist is equally expressive and sensitive in perfect rapport with the cellist. Beautifully recorded and highly recommendable not only for those who seek high quality of music making, but also those who are not familiar with classical music.

Nothing predictable here! A very well chosen (and beautifully played) selection of encore pieces for cello many of which are well off the beaten track - the Rachmaninov is a first recording. One of the very best collections of its kind.
