5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Value and Quality 27 Aug 2011

This TV has far exceeded my expectations for the money - it is incredable value. The TV looks very good, it is very thin and light (due to the LED backlight) and it is Full HD.

The set up was very straight forward - just press a button and it tuned everything in. The quality of the picture is amazing after a little adjustment (the picture had too much colour for me initially).

I plugged in an 8GB USB stick and the PVR function worked well straight away. It can be programmed from the EPG and you can also pause live TV. This only works on the Freesat channels (not analogue) but that is fine. The recordings are excellent quality and best of all, they can also be transferred to the PC to watch. The file sizes are pretty big but if you have some suitable software they could be reduced in size.

Another great feature is that the TV remote control can be programmed to control my Sky+HD box. I had to press just 2 buttons on the TV remote and now it controls all the features of my Sky+HD box - ie. guide, record, channel change etc!

I took a bit of a gamble on this TV because it is a cheap/unknown make but it was worth it. Also, if anything were to go wrong, I am confident that Amazon would sort it out as their customer service is excellent.

For anyone who wants to read a bit more about the TV, it is actually made by SEG and the model is 'Vermont' - SEG have a website so you could check this out.

3.0 out of 5 stars Underwhelming Bargain 31 May 2012

Purchased from Amazon Warehouse listed as slight damage to front (not screen) So saved £80 off Amazon RRP which was nice as at £170 for a 32 inch TV I believe it was a good deal. Amazon delivery and packaging was faultless. Nothing new there! The TV itself is ok... very simple to set up. Literally push a couple of buttons and it tunes itself!

It's a reasonable looking TV with a whole load of buttons down the right side for channel/ volume etc. 3x HDMI sockets, PC input, SCART, USB... So lots of options for connectivity if thats required. The TV WILL take a standard VESA wall bracket which, for my experience, was a little tricky but its on the wall now. I took the time to plug in a rear HDMI cable and a SCART cable for future use before securing to the wall. Access might be a bit tight otherwise.

The remote looks quite nice, chunky (like a SKY remote actually) but the remotes signal is not very strong and has been a frustration already requiring multiple waving of remote in different areas of TV to get it to do as its asked.

And the picture to be honest is nothing special... I was hoping for a bit of a "Wow!" moment when this Full HD TV was first tuned in but its not particularly sharp or even all that nice after further colour set up.

Let me put it this way- if it was side by side with several other TV's on display in a place like Curry's, it would certainly not catch my eye at all. I saw a 32 inch TV at Morrisons the other day for £289 (sorry don't recall the make) but THAT TV was a "Wow!" moment- beautiful clarity and dark blacks...

This TV is fine for my teenage daughters bedroom wall as an occasional user but for your front room as a TV to show off to family and friends?... Look elsewhere.

4.0 out of 5 stars First thoughts... 12 Sep 2011

One of the main reasons i went for this TV is because of the reviews (and the cost). I had a struggle to find a reasonably good TV for under £250. I'd happily put money on someone not finding a better TV for the same cost!

Picture is tip-top - my main use if for PlayStation 3 connected via HDMI and i have no complaints so far!

Watched Inception on Blu-Ray and was excellent picture quality!

Sound is excellent. If you're using surround sound then it will be even better.

My only downside, and the reason behind 4 start and not 5 star rating is the connections on the back of the TV. The USB memory stick and HDMI cable need to be ultrta thin to fit in the rear sockets. I have had to use the HDMI3 slot on the side of the TV. Luckily, my USB fits but you will need a very thin one if you want to use this feature.

Instructions say you can record on to the USB - this i have not tried yet but sure to report back once i have done!

If I was any of you "Do I? Don't I?" - i say DO!! Get your hands on one of these excellent unknown TV's before Amazon and tha makers realise they have a winner on their hands and increase the cost!

4.0 out of 5 stars Value for Money 6 Sep 2011
I bought in mid July as a TV for the conservatory, and while it hasnt had too much use yet, the setup was easy and the picture and sound quality are perfectly acceptable for the smallish room it is in. The remote does seem a little slow to react at times but it is a minor gripe. ALso the SEG website seems to show all these TVs (this one being the Vermont V2, as pointed out by a previous reviewer) as having a 2 year warranty. I havent tried recording yey, but I did test it playing back a .avi file movie from a usb stick and it worked without problem.

Just need to find a sky remote code for it now so I can avoid the included remote control.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good for price
Suffers from tinny sound as in most slimline models, colour also needs a lot of adjusting, for the price I paid though I am satisfied.
