My parents wanted to replace a Viewpia 22" DVD TV as a DVD had got stuck in it.

After an internet trawl I made a shortlist of the TVs here, and , based on a review of another Cello TV recommended this one.

    The TV

There are controls on the top edge (unseen from the front) and the DVD is side access on the left not the right as shown in the picture.

It is a very light TV, the black plastic frame is quite slim and not too shiny to distract.

It tuned in quickly, there are lots of ways to adjust the sound and the picture but I just left everything on default.

    Picture

This is really clear and bright, being full HD.

    Sound

Excellent - previous TV had sound so low we considered fitting extra speakers, but this can go loud enough for quite a large room !

    Helpline

My parents could'nt get this switched on !! and called the helpline who were not too helpful, I called round and got it on without reading the manual, there is a "hard" switch on the bottom right and power on off on a top button.

    The manual is quite clear.

In summary a cracking TV at a very good price ([...] @ Oct 10)

MY 1ST EVER REVIEW! Having previously owned a Cello TV about 5yrs ago, I vowed NEVER to buy another! So why am I writing this review - I hear you ask? Because I did not learn from my previous mistake!
If you like good customer service - dont buy Cello.
If you like to tweak your T.V's sound - dont buy Cello.
If you like to adjust your picture quality/colour to suit your tastes - dont buy Cello.
If you like your TV to be reliable - dont buy Cello.
If you like great value, but top quality products - dont buy Cello.
There are limited menus on this TV as there were 5 yrs ago. I had hoped the brand had moved on, but unfortunately - not! You can still only adjust the colour/sharpness/sound within Cello's set limits. I thought, "Oh well, the pictures not arf bad! At this price beggars cant be choosers!" Well, let me tell you that beggars should just put their hard earned cash elsewhere, because within the month the dvd player had packed up and would not respond to commands - hey, ho, here we go!! (Thank heaven for Amazon) We only needed it for a bedroom to be used occasionally, it couldn't even cope with that!! We have a Sony downstairs that has been totally reliable for 3yrs and a Panasonic for 2yrs. Right now, we are more than happy to stare at an empty bedroom wall till we can afford a better brand! Sooooo not worth it!!

Bought this as a Christmas gift for my daughter. After reading great reviews on Cello products, was very disappointed to find that it would not play dvd's. More annoying was attempting to call the Cello helpline where a snooty woman said that the model number on our TV did not relate to any Cello product and refused to help us further. Thankfully Amazon have a great returns policy.
