Product Description

From the Artist

Description of the CD
This CD is a unique collection of works for cello and piano by 10 British Women Composers from the last 100 years. I have found them in libraries, music collections or directly from the composers. They are strong, attractive pieces of great appeal that have suffered undeserved neglect. It has been a very rewarding project researching and performing this lovely music. Most of the pieces are world premiere recordings. ASV, the recording company call it an 'ASV coup, a cello cornucopia of remarkable music...we owe their resurrection to the extensive researches of that splendid British cellist, Catherine Wilmers, now making her solo recording debut.' HMV describe it as 'a remarkable disc.'

4.0 out of 5 stars Second-rate performer and performance! 11 Jun 2009
For those unfamiliar with compositions of women musicians, this is a good try! But I have to say that this is merely second-rate in every way.Sorry
