On arrival this lens looks impressive and appears to be well engineered. It is essentially a metal tube, open at one end, with a lens at the other. You insert your chosen eyepiece into the open end, screw it into place so that it doesn't wobble, and insert the Barlow lens into the focus tube... and that's it. When I look at the Moon through the Celestron's supplied eyepiece I can see the entire Moon, but when I combine it with this I can see a smaller area but in incredible detail. Then if I turn my attention to Jupiter without the Barlow it looks like a big star, but when I also use this I can just about make out the cloud bands and also see two of the moons.
If you've just bought a Celestron telescope and are a little disappointed with what you can see, try this!
