Having spent days browsing every site I could find to look for a budget telescope that would actually work, I had actually given up when I came across this! Apparently Celestron is one of the best makes of telescope (along with Skywatcher).

The telescope arrived quickly and was packaged securely. The recipient of the gift (24 year old man) loved it! It's easy to set up and easy to use. Unfortunately we've only seen the moon so far - it's been too cloudy to see anything else!) - but the detail of the craters was incredible - better than I was anticipating in fact.

If you're looking for a first-time telescope and haven't got a spare £800+, try the Celestron PowerSeeker range.

found the lenses difficult to adjust no doubt that they were powerful but as much luck as judgement if you could find what you were looking for

Great Beginner Scope 30 Dec 2011
By Lisa
For the small price I thought I would give it a little chance and to be honest I'm pretty surprised. First of all very quickly delivered then when opened box found extremely easy to set up! First night tonight and there seems to be a lot of cloud but after a few ours of patience found this thirty pounds scope pretty effective managed to get a Jupiter although clarity isn't brilliant for thirty quid I cannot complain.

Great for beginners as myself will definitely be upgrading in the near future so I can gain some clearer views on what's out there!
