Super little selection of songs, some beautifully delivered, such as Sometimes A Day Goes By/I don't Remember You. Gets off to a shaky start with a pretty poor rendition of Broadway My Street. A song never intended to be sung by such few people. But then the evening just gets better and better. All the big shows are covered, Chicago, Cabaret, The Rink and then some of the lesser known shows get a look in with songs from The Act, The Happy Time, Woman of the Year, Flora the Red Menace and (the wonderful) Steel Pier. A definite treat for musical theatre fans. If you want your Andrew Lloyd Webber power ballads steer well clear, but if you want witty, insightful and sometimes touching tunes and lyrics this is the CD for you.
