About the Author

Princess Catherine Radziwi?? (1858-1941) was a Polish princess from the Polish-Lithuanian aristocratic Radziwi?? family. She was born as Countess Ekaterina Adamovna Rzewuska. She married Prince Wilhelm Radziwi?? at age 15 and moved to Berlin to live with his family. It was speculated that she was the author of a book gossiping about the German Emperor William II and Berlin society in 1884 under the pen name Paul Vasili. She stalked the English-born South African politician Cecil Rhodes and asked him to marry her, but he refused. She then got revenge by forging his name on a promissory note. She was convicted of forging Rhodes' signature and spent time in a South African jail for her crimes. --This text refers to an alternate Paperback edition.

Not about Mr. Rhodes! 12 July 2010
By P. Bechtel - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
Princess Radzwell, Jackie O's great aunt or some such thing, stalked Mr. Rhodes for years trying to become Mrs. Rhodes. Rhodes finally had to take her to Court to divert her attentions. This is a series of "stream of consciousness" thoughts by the good Princess on certain topics of the day in South Africa. It is very poorly written. It is a "wannabe"'s chit chat picked up (mostly second or third hand)slightly about Rhodes, but more ofter praising Mr. Milner, a later governor. No wonder Rhodes would do anything he could to get rid of this harpy.
