5.0 out of 5 stars One boys discovery of true friendship, 26 Feb 2001
By A Customer
A brilliant book of one boys adventures on an Island in the Carribean. The book shows how Phillip copes without his mother. He also tries to come to grips with the fact that black and white people are all the same inside. This story tells of one boys discovery of true friendship despite social misbeliefs of ageism and racism.

5.0 out of 5 stars It's heartstopping, adventrous and very affective!, 4 Dec 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: The Cay (Puffin Books) (Paperback)
Theodore Taylor is a wonderful and excellent writer. I have read all his books and the one that sets my blood stream going is 'The Cay'. I was in the shop one day mad with my mum, and i looked on the shelf and there it was. I picked it up and begged on my knees for it. Finally she was persuaded and the book was mine. That night I read a whole five chapters and couldn't put the book down. Finally I fell asleep with the book open over my face. The book gave me chills, happiness and always left me in suspense. The saddest part of the story was when Timothy died and Phillip buried him. The greatest part was when Phillip was found. I hope that more and more people read this after I have written this review, because after all it is one of the greatest books I have ever read!
