About the Author
Cecilia was brought up on boats and in caravans in the southeast of England and north Wales. She read avidly as a child, and moved frequently from place to place. She studied Social Anthropology at Cambridge and then taught Social Anthropology at universities in Edinburgh, London and Kent. Cecilia now lives in Devon and has three children aged between 8 and 16. She currently works on environmental issues with schools, and is a copyeditor for an academic press. Cauldron Spells is her second full-length book for children.

I choose this rating because it was funny and witty but at some parts off the story i lost the plot and got a bit confusing. I can recommend this book yo year 4 to year 7/8. I can say that because i am in year 7.

I've been sharing this book and its predecessor (Frogspell) with my two daughters, aged 6 and 8, and they absolutely love them. The main characters, Max and Olivia, are refreshingly feisty & hilariously accident-prone, the adventures are full of the most delicious magic, and the gormless but utterly loveable dragon Adolphus is a hero in our house. We are eagerly awaiting the next book!
