Product Description

Do you want to read an enticing novel that doesn't rely at all on bad language and unnecessary descriptions of violence and sex to sell? The author has managed to avoid all of these and still produce a captivating story.

Mike Hoffman will go to any lengths to get his son off drugs - including murder. His wife is his first victim and the justice system will fail to punish him, leaving him free to take whatever steps he thinks will save his son's life.

The foundation for this intriguing story is based on a true event and it is written in an unusual way. You will know the crimes and how they are going to be carried out before they happen, but the suspense will grip you as you follow the frustrations of those who investigate them. You will become so involved in the story that you will want to warn the victims before things happen to them.
This is about a man with a single obsession who will stop at nothing to fulfill his ambition. His twisted mind is capable of anything and the evil he commits will shock the church community who take him into their fold.
In the course of the story you will discover weaknesses in the justice system that will disturb you and you will be left wondering how safe we are in a society where government has interfered in the judicial process so much that killers like this can still be at large.
Written against a background of a small village church community, you will encounter elements of racism, love, fear, hatred and true faith. The characters come alive as the author introduces a fascinating mix of young and old, able-bodied and disabled, loveable and despicable. Everyone who reads this remarkable novel will be looking for the author's next one.

I thoroughly enjoyed this new style of writing with no foul language or explicit sex scenes. For this author's first book it has a great story line and I can't wait for his next one (soon please!)
Written from the point of view of the police trying to solve the crimes, the reader follows their progress towards discovering what we already know. There are surprising twists and turns and you always want to know how it will turn out. The author keeps you guessing to the very satisfying end.

Had me hooked 31 Jan 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
I did start off this book worried it was going to be all about religion but it wasn't. Quite a far fetched plot of deception but it starts coming unravelled for the bad guys at the end as it invariably does. I found the style easy to read and some of the twists and turns had me hooked.

It's not often that I would start writing a review on a book that I was only half way through, but this is just such a book.

To be honest I really didn't think that this was going to be the book for me; altogether too much religion in it, but I decided to stick with it and am thoroughly enjoying it. The characters are believable and the juxtaposition to all the piety is the evil character whose underhandedness makes it all the more interesting.

There are small formatting problems like a font that suddenly shrinks in size, and the very occasional typo, but I am sure that neither will put you off as once you pick this up and get through the first few chapters the real story happens and it is difficult to put down. Enjoy - I certainly am.

Just returned to finish off the review and I have to say that the book carried on getting better page after page. Well worth reading. I hope that we will see more from this author.

Written by a 10 year old
I started this book with high hopes as the blurb sounded good. However after a few pages it became apparent that the author had a good story but no real storytelling skill. Read more

Get your facts right
The book, at the start, was boring for many chapters. The sentence for murder was totally ridiculous and illegal (a suspended sentence for murder !!!!!). Read more

Its about policing not religion
The initial part of the book points towards a religious theme but don't be put off. This is merely the device upon which Roberts hangs his tale. Read more
