Three years ago, Callie ran away from Jack after realising that she couldn't love a man that didn't love her back. When she runs into him at a friend's party, she agrees to become his Sub once more. But this time Jack is determined to make her stay, to let her know that he loves her, and the lines between their dom/sub relationship begin to blur as he tries to let his feelings show. His actions just confuse Callie, who isn't sure what to make of them, or what she wants to make of them, until Jack makes the one gesture that could truly convince her that he loves her.
Caught is not suitable for younger audiences due to frequent sex scenes which often have a BDSM theme. Though the two main characters were in a dom/sub relationship, the story really seemed to be about them reconciling that side of their life together with the other potential side, for romanticism and a real relationship. I thought that it was interesting that at the point which the shift towards that happened there was a shift in the writing, going from referring to Jack by his name, rather than by Master, in Callie's inner monologue.
I was a little disappointed in Callie's character, of the two it seemed that Jack was the much better formed and fleshed out character, whereas Callie didn't really take on that much background. But I did think that the story seemed to be more about Jack's acceptance of what the two of them meant to each other than Callie's anyway, so it made more sense as a reader to know him better.
One of the things that struck me as well captured was the heat of the honeymoon stage of a relationship. The author clearly captured the feelings and emotions that lead to people tearing each others' clothes off as opposed to talking like they should do.
An interesting story, slightly heavy on the sex side, but the romance was there!
