Product Description

Throughout Batman's career, he has faced a host of heroes and villains - but none walk that fine line quite as much as his sometime ally, sometime enemy, Catwoman! But now Catwoman has disappeared and is presumed dead. However, her mysterious disappearace draws the attention of private eye Slam Bradley, who finds himself with an unexpected surprise - Catwoman is very much alive! Now she's faced with a tough choice - remain in the shadows, or move into the light to seek her new destiny - and she chooses to return to the spotlight! With a bold new look, and a new take on life, Catwoman returns to the streets that created her - only to find that the ladies of the night she calls friends are prey to a serial killer...but with the Catwoman back in town, the tables are about to turn!

4.0 out of 5 stars Don't Be Fooled, 13 Feb 2005

For some reason when i saw the Catwoman title in the comic shop it filled me with a sense of dread and a feeling that DC was desperately trying to bring in a "relevant female heroine," and for ages i ignored it's existence, but for lack of anything else to read i purchased this graphic novel and i have to say it wasn't what i expected at all!

It was actually a good read.

The book really contains two stories - Slam Bradley's investigation into the supposed death of Selina Kyle to start off and then the first four issues of the ongoing series - both of which will take up all your free time relentlessly until you have finsihed the collection.

My recommendation is that for anyone who wants a good read (without it being neccessary to know the entire history of the DC Universe) should buy this book.

Now.

5.0 out of 5 stars Catwoman rocks, 4 Nov 2003
By Jo-Herman Haugholt "Huyderman" (Norway) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
In these days with an impending new movie about Catwoman (which oddly enough seems to have no actuall relation to DC's Catwoman, even though it's licenced.), It's refreshing to take a look back at this title. The restarted Catwoman line was one of the comics I started to pick up when I started to really get into comics a while back, and arguably one of the comics that kindled the fire that makes me spend alot more than I should on comics. The drawings are crisp and stylish, the story is great. With the cool new suit, it really brings Catwoman forth to be one of my favorite comics. This compilation includes the issues of Detective Comics (I think, my mind eludes me) witch was a prelude to the series, and the first story arc starting in Catwoman #1. With a new compilation coming out soon, this is a perfect place to start you're new Catwoman collection.
Run out and get it, if only to realise how much better this costume design is compared to the upcoming flic..
