pussy galore 10 Oct 2010
Format:Hardcover
Personally I can't stand cats, and a friend gave me this knowingly. Contrary to my expectations it had me rolling on the floor and tangling myself in knitting wool. Seriously, it is a fun book that does our little feline friends (or enemies) what Martin Clunes did for laddish culture: makes you think that annoying behaviour is just part and parcel of the species. Made me laugh a lot. I may even stroke a cat next time I see one. But don't count on it, tabby boy!

A must have 18 Feb 2011
Format:Hardcover
I was at my wits end with my cat Munchie and was very close to giving her to a rehoming centre as each time you went near her she would play very roughly with your hand, arm, foot, head, face, furntiure and any visitor. I found this book in a garden centre and was caught by it's title, i bought it in the veign hope that it may give a few ideas on what i could do to help tame this lil'un of mine. It did more than just give a few ideas it took a very boisterous adolescent cat into a sweet and calm lil kitty. It has saved her from finding a new home. In return the kitty is happier today and less frustrated with me, as we did kinda clash between her needs and my needs. Thankful with this book, we have reached a peaceful place in our home. Friends and family have detected a vast change in our pet-owner relationship.

It caters to owners who have indoor cats, outdoor cats, trouble with cat bullying, thinking of taking on more than one cat, fat and faddy cats, clawing - biting kitties, etc.

I have huge admiration for Celia Haddon and everything she's done to help the plight of abandoned cats and I loved this book. Lots of really fascinating insights into why our cats behave like capricious little madams most of the time! It would be a great present for a cat lover, especially one who - like me - feels like they get bossed around by their pets a lot (though doesn't really mind, of course!)
