The bible is small enough to bring along to prayer meetings and liturtical celebrations.
It has references to Mass readings at the back of the bible, together with a short concordance.
The leather is artifical but the bindling is excellent. There is no gold edges - i.e. not fine binding.
I received the bible this morning and began reading the first book of Samuel and I compared with my JB. It is a very easy to read Bible written in British English.
This bible is not suitable for those who want to do cross referencing or those who want to study the bible with notes. However, it is very suitable for those who want a portable bible, with good binding [artifical leather] which can be taken away from home for personal prayer, retreats, prayer meetings. I read the bible in bed and I found it to light enough to handle.
The bible has imprimatur from American and Canadian bishops.

As the previous reviews are already quite thorough, the following are some additional thoughts:
1) This Bible is printed with the books in the original Catholic ordering (which I greatly prefer); i.e. the Deuterocanonical books are not separated out into their own section.
2) The psalms in the body of the Wisdom literature are in the NRSV translation, and the Grail psalms then come as a very neat appendix.
3) The cover is a dark green (which is a little difficult to make out from the picture), and has a pleasant fleur de lis impression on the front and back.
All in all, I was drawn to this bible, owning many of the other Catholic edition bibles already on the market, because it uses my preferred translations (NRSV) with the Grail psalms included. It is very easy to read, quite sturdy, has a single green ribbon for marking pages and is well bound. It is not a study bible and there are only really footnotes concerning translation, and not a lot of space in the margins, so it would not suit those who prefer to annotate with copious notes.
I am delighted that I now own this copy though, and I prefer it to many others that do not use the original ordering or with inferior translations. Further, with the Anglicized text (e.g. "Honour your father and your mother", rather than the Americanized "Honor...") it feels more readable still for those of us on the east of the Atlantic. A good addition to one's collection, and a good presentation of the Word of God.

Very nice edition of this fine translation of the entire Scriptures. The Grail translation of the Book of Psalms is used in the Liturgy of the Hours, so the psalms have a very familiar feel. The NRSV translation for the rest is one which comes highly recommended by many scholars for its accuracy, and reads well.
My only reservation is that I'd like the font to be a little larger, although it is very clear and high contrast with the paper - I suppose I'd have to sacrifice ease of handling, and I'd rather not do that.
