In the UK, it is very difficult to find a Bible that:

- is aimed at Catholics (ie, including the Apocryphal/Deuteronocanonical Books in the original order)
- uses British English
- has a readable typeface (ie, you don't need a magnifying glass to read it)

Look no more: this Bible ticks all the boxes.

I already had a large collection of Bibles and I wasn't planning on buying this new edition but when I saw it, I just had to buy it. It is attractively presented in hardback, with a burgandy cover proudly proclaiming it to be a "Catholic Bible". For the first time, the New Revised Standard Version and the Grail translation of the Psalms are brought together in a single volume to create a Bible that is easy to read, a pleasure to own, and a delight to display on any bookshelf.

Additional features include Sunday and weekday mass readings and maps.

I was a little skeptical about the AngliciZed version too, but I think that is the only concession to US English. The translation explanation inspires confidence in the care that has gone into the translation, and I'm finding it a really easy read - not at all over PC'd! Others have commented that this version provides a clearer rendering of the scriptures than some other versions in some circumstances, and personally, I'm very impressed.

This Catholic Bible I bought after reading the description and the bible is exactly as described. After I got the first one for myself and was so impressed with it I then purchased another to give as a present. It is a joy to read. The text is clear and the paper feels lovely to touch. I would highly recommend it. It makes daily bible reading a real pleasure and is also very good value for money.
