BBC made the "Poldark" series a few years before the Mallen series was made, but OH! how much better quality, surely somebody could have cleaned the originale tape up of the Mallen Streak, even the advert signal apears in the top right hand corner every so often...If I had known what I know now I would not have purchased this DVD..ITV should be ashamed of themselves for marketing it in this condition!!!

I would agree with the other 2 reviews - I got this as part of the C Cookson complete collection so had watched about 12 other DVD's before I got to this one. Just as well really because I think if this had been the first CC DVD I'd have bought I wouldnt have bothered buying any more !! I've turned it off after the first 30 minutes because its poorness is just irritating esp as CC books are so great. Whoever produced this killed the story with the poor actors and terrible set and filming. I'm hoping the Mallen girls is better ...fingers crossed

I agree with the above review.
One of the worst catherine cookson adaptions to film.
Bad acting, poorly filmed.
I wouldn't watch it again. If you love catherine cookson give this one a miss, it's terrible.

I enjoy all catherine cookson's films so i thought till i watched this one. This must be one of the early films that was made it showed. Read more
