Book Description

20 Mar 2012 Dungeons & Dragons

This set of dungeon tiles is unusual in that it includes 4 sheets of dungeon terrain tiles and 2 sheets of tokens to represent spell effects, magical traps, and elemental hazards. Dungeon Masters can use these tiles and tokens to quickly and easily create locations within elemental and settlements, including drow cities.

These tiles and tokens are suitable for any Dungeons & Dragons campaign and are compatible with past and future Dungeon Tiles sets. This set gives Dungeon Masters additional location-building options.

4.0 out of 5 stars Places for roleplaying 2 May 2014

I play a bit RPG and enjoy using tiles for making places and fights go easier.
The more spooky places the better.

5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant 3 Feb 2014

Absolutely wonderful, many counters and useful designs, including a diagonal passage, for that extra variety.

The only improvement I can see is that a few of the extra tiles with the set take a little while to figure out, some look like ingots, or maybe walls viewed from above. A little key on the packaging would really help with any discrepancies for the more vague tiles, though you can always decide something different.

4.0 out of 5 stars Worth the money 11 Aug 2013
Format:Misc. Supplies|Verified Purchase
Having been a role-playing gamer for 3o years, I was reluctant to purchase the Dungeons and Dragons, Cathedral of Chaos Dungeon Tiles at first, having for many years used a hex/grid play mat and marker pens mostly, with the occasional use of resin model scenery for detailed pre-designed large combat play. I must admit however, that I was pleasantly surprised at how good the tiles actually are. The pack comes as six pre-punched cards, printed with different designs on each side. The card is 2mm thick, making the tiles very robust and able to withstand a lot of repeated game play. The artwork design is very good, detailed and generic, thus allowing use in other fantasy role playing games also.

My only (minor) criticisms would be that: one, as the tiles are printed on both sides, it does restrict their use to one design at a time per tile, and thus the overall full use of the pack; and two, the pack does not come in a box, but with the six cards shrink-wrapped. I would recommend the use of Dungeons and Dragons, Cathedral of Chaos Dungeon Tiles, probably purchasing s second and maybe a third pack to utilise them fully.

4.0 out of 5 stars Cool 27 July 2012

Fairly useful tiles. Picked these up for 10, which seemed an alright price. Some very useful pieces to.
Water tiles, lava tiles, lots of statues and ghost type counters. Some odd jagged type tiles. A good variety!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Set! 24 Mar 2012
By Kett - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Misc. Supplies|Verified Purchase
When I ordered this, I halfway expected it to be like every other 'dungeon' type tile set that was released, and figured at the worst, hey, I have more stone pieces for an epic dungeon layout. However, when I got this set and opened it I was excited to see that although the first two pages of tiles are standard dungeon, the reverse has cool things like a giant smoketrap room, and diagonal hallway pieces which I LOVE, and a whole page of monster-token like pieces that are various traps and such, which has been sorely needed.

The only complaint I had was with Amazon, and that's because the package came in with a huge dented scratch on the first tile that I didn't notice until I had already eagerly pulled off the plastic wrap. I already submitted package feedback on that, so I am not discounting the review of the product because of Amazon's error.

5.0 out of 5 stars A fantastic addition to the dungeon tiles collection. 22 Mar 2012

First off, you should know that while you can build a (small) complete dungeon with only this, I would recommend against it. But, if you already have the Dungeon Tiles: The Dungeon set, then you're golden. This set (as far as I know) introduces diagonal tiles, which is a great way to add some variety to your traditionally rectangular dungeons. There's also a whole sheet of round tiles for everything from the mage hand spell and lighted runes to bushes, mushrooms, and busted doors. So you lose a sheet to that, but it does allow you to add more variety to non-special tiles. All in all, a great addition to a great set of accessories.

4.0 out of 5 stars Decent set, Don't mind the sheet with tokens 6 May 2013
By Rick Stokell - Published on Amazon.com

Yes, it means one less sheet of floor tiles. I've actually gotten a lot of use out of the round tokens, this was a good idea. The 1" round fire tokens get used a great deal. My wife is a new player and likes to throw burning flasks of oil at undead creatures. (seen too many movies?) These 1" fire tokens help me track .squares and zombies that are still burning. Sure, dice or anything could be used, but fire counters can be placed under the miniature's base, so nobody will forget it is on fire.

The tiles are what I've come to expect from WOTC, great artwork and flexibility. A Dungeon tiles Master set and a couple of these supplement sets and you're good. Get the outdoors master set and you're even better.
