I have meant to get a trimmer (a.k.a. guillotine in my terminology) for a long time and it has been the high price which has put me off . This product is fairly robust for the price and fulfills the purpose which it was bought for - accurately trimming A4 paper. The paper fits in width- and length-ways and therefore the product will also cut A3 paper across its short edge. It has a useful ruler which is accurate so no need to manually compensate for the ruler being a couple of mm out compared to the cutting edge. Product highly recommended.

I suppose 'you get what you pay for' is the best-fitting cliché for this one. I bought this to trim photos - and it does that fine - but the edges aren't left perfectly smooth as I'd hoped. Don't get me wrong, the results are reasonable, but the perfectionist will be disappointed. The unit is a little flimsy too, but again it's the kind of quality you'd expect for the price. Overall I'd recommend this item if you can't afford (or don't want to pay) premium prices for a professional version.

I bought this after reading reviews of other similarly priced guillotines, and was swayed by the specs stating it cuts up to 10 sheets. That's very unlikely. I tried cutting 180gsm paper (equivalent to 2-3 sheets of copier paper at once) and it left tears and folded edges.
I've tried cutting single sheets of standard (80gsm) paper too. No matter how I try, quickly or slowly, I can't get a clean cut.
I also found that after trimming it was difficult to remove the work because the cutting head was still very close to the end of the page, gripping the corner. It would benefit from a longer platform.

Does the job but quite difficult to get accurate measurement because the blade is set so far back. card stock can only be cut 1 at a time

doesn't line up properly
the blade was sharp enough but the cutting edge is set in the wrong position so the measurements are inaccurate and you can't tell where the cut will be made. Read more
