Product Description

The CatEye Nano Shot Plus emits 600 lumens of light and has 3 different modes: High, Low and Hyper Constant (flashing).   Hyper-Constant mode puts the light on the low setting while simultaneously flashing on high, so the cyclist can see the road while also being seen by motorists. This “See and Be Seen” makes it ideal for urban city commuting.   The Nano Shot Plus also has an optional helmet mount. When set on high, it’s a great trail riding light. The body is a special lightweight composite that helps dissipate the heat to provide optimal performance. Run times: High mode for 1.5hrs, Low mode for 4hrs, or Hyper-Constant mode for 2hrs. 160 g.   Dimension: 96.4 X 58.6 X 35.6mm Weight: 160 grams (light unit and battery) Light source: High intensity white LED X2 Light output:  600lm / 5000cd Run time: High mode : approx 1.5hrs Low mode : approx 4hrs Hyper Constant mode : approx 2hrs Battery: Li-Ion rechargeable battery (3.7V-2800mAh) Recharge time: approx 8hrs (USB2.0 recharge)  80% full recharge in 5hrs. Best bike light I have ever owned! and I've owned loads in my 50yr + career :-)
Small, light, tough, almost unbelievably powerful and relatively inexpensive.
Run time a bit short, but that's a fact of life NOT a critisism :-)

Easy to fit, plenty of light to ride safely at night (to avoid potholes!), reasonable battery life, worth the investment.

Cars take notice 15 Oct. 2012
By Tim Ryan - Published on Amazon.com
Colour Name: BlackSize Name: One Size Verified Purchase
I purchased this light for one reason: to be seen by cars in traffic at night. Riding home at dusk I passed a driver who rolled down her window and yelled in disbelief, "what kind of a bike light IS that?" Mission Accomplished.

PROS:
- Bright in city traffic at night. Drivers take notice
- Solid construction
- Easy setup and attachment

CONS:
- USB cable is too short (look about 10 cm long)
- Slow charge time (8h. Seriously)
- No USB wall adapter included
- No helmet mount
- Limited settings (low, high, and blink between low and high)

A little disappointed 9 April 2013
By DigitalMan - Published on Amazon.com

I have the smaller Cateye nanoshot and I really like it. It is very bright and has different modes, including a really noticeable flashing mode to warn motorists that you are coming. It is next to impossible for someone to miss unless they are texting and totally not watching the road. I bought this unit thinking with the dual LEDs it would be that much brighter and noticeable. Aside from the fact that it is considerably heavier and bulkier that then nano shot (and almost twice the price) you don't get twice the bang for your dollar. The flashing mode on this unit is far less noticeable than on the regular nanoshot. Bottom line, I kept it but I use my regular nanoshot most of the time and use this one as a backup in case I forget to charge my smaller unit. I recommend for the money the single LED Nanoshot by Cateye highly.

Good Headlight for High Speed Riding 10 Jan. 2013
By Amazon Customer - Published on Amazon.com
Colour Name: BlackSize Name: One Size Verified Purchase
Good enough for group rides in the early morning before sunrise. There are three modes low beam, bright high beam, and flashing. Button on back used to change modes and shows battery charge status, green charged, yellow weak, and red. Way bright on high and perfect on low. Iluminates the road ahead fine and also the peripheral areas, so you can see other riders in your group, etc. on the sides. Charging takes several hours, but it last for a number of hour long rides.

Extremely bright 11 Feb. 2013
By Thomas Grimes - Published on Amazon.com
Colour Name: BlackSize Name: One Size Verified Purchase
Extremely (almost excessively) bright. It's great. The three modes, dim (ish), bright, and constant dim with bright flashes, offer a setting for any situation. Very easy to install, and I've had other CatEye headlights in the past (all of which still work, purchased 5+ years ago), and their mounting mechanism is still the same, so they're interchangeable on each mount.

I like the on-off action, it's not too easy so it will turn on in your pocket, but it's also not difficult to turn on. Charging is easy with a common USB Mini-B plug. It comes with a cord that's very short, maybe 3 inches, but I like that because it's easy to throw in a bag. Other, longer Mini-USB cables are very easy to find (most digital cameras use them) to keep at home and the office for convenience. It does not come with a A/C to USB power adapter, but those are very common too. A normal USB port on a computer will charge it in a very reasonable amount of time. A 5 volt, 1 amp A/C USB like most smart phones come with will also charge this at twice the rate of most computer USB ports, but the higher charging rate supposedly degrades batteries faster.

The battery life isn't as great as other headlights. I've had another CatEye that uses 4 AA batteries, but it's very big and bulky, and it's only very bright for the first quarter of the life of the batteries. This one stays bright for the life of the batteries, isn't as bulky, and is easily recharged.

Good light. 14 Jun. 2013
By M. Sparks - Published on Amazon.com

It's a good product, maybe even a great one. Probably deserves four stars, because figuring out how to make it flash isn't intuitive. (Keep pressure on the button.) It gets five because I literally used it in a hurricane (before the worst of it hit) for a ten mile commute without a problem. I was soaked. My work clothes, carefully stored in plastic bags and loaded in panniers, were soaked. The light however worked like a charm.
