This kettle is ideal for two people, as pensioner we like the lightness and the easy fill. It's reasonably quiet and yes, it takes about 5 minutes to come to the boil but that for us is not an issue.
So would we recommend it? Yes, for those who want a two cup kettle then this is ideal for daily use. When we have guests then we use our larger kettle and we notice the difference as the large kettle is heavier and noisy.
If you are single or there is just two of you then the Buffalo Mini Kettle is well worth considering.

Update:
September 24th and the kettle has completely stopped working; the power light comes on and there is no visual damage to the lead, element or base; unfortunately after 25 minutes the water is still cold in the kettle.
On this basis I reduce my rating from 5 stars to only one star.

I bought this kettle to use in our caravan, and although not quick to boil, it is exactly what we needed as it has low power, but big enough for 4 cups.

I bought this kettle for my elderly mum who was struggling to use a full size kettle due to her arthritis. It works fine, looks nice and she's quite happy with it, but it takes an age to boil, even when less than half full.

For use in the caravan I wanted a low wattage, cordless kettle with a decent capacity without being too bulky. That is exactly what you get with this kettle. It boils 1 litre of cold tap water in about 6 minutes.

I am very happy with this purchase but if you don't need these specific features then you might find a better buy. I have seen a full-size, but low wattage, kettle for a similar price, and you can certainly buy cheaper if you don't need a cordless kettle. I bought this to replace a Lloytron Essentials kettle Lloytron E886 Travel Kettle With Cups which is quite a bit cheaper and arguably more suitable for putting in a suitcase as it is slimmer. Mine still works after over 7 years but the water-proof membrane over the switches has worn through and I don't want to electricute myself! ... hence the need for a replacement.

The Buffalo matched my needs exactly so I was prepared to pay a little more for it. So far I can't fault it.

This little Buffalo hotel mini kettle is hot. We have just fitted solar panels and using this
900 watt kettle means that we draw most of the power to heat it from the sun's energy.
During daylight hours it saves us money and keeps our carbon dioxide emissions down.

As micro scale renewable energy expands, this is the type of appliance we will need more of.

Apart from that it is small light and neat. You can see how much water you have put in it.

being a tea-holic it was great semi fast boiling kettle that i got August last year, neat and easy to use it was great when i was in uni halls. the best thing was it auto switched off when boiled and a is surprisingly a quiet boil.
the only disappointment was it packed up on me after less than a year this is a hotel purpose made which was really sad..possiably because the amount of tea i make was its undoing :)
still it's a very worthwhile investment

I bought this kettle for my elderly Mother since she could no longer lift a large kettle safely. She has found it to be just what she needed but unfortunately the switch developed a fault after a few months and it no longer came to the boil. I contacted the seller and they delivered a replacement the next working day. No quibble and no need to send the old one back. The replacement works perfectly. Well done and thank you.

We bought our kettle for our motorhome last month - 2kw and 3kw kettles won't work on so many campsites in Europe because of the low amperage elec supplies. This one does what it says it does - it boils water!! Not very fast, it's true but at 900w it's no better or worse than any other travel kettle. It seems to be well made and solid; it's really convenient because it is cordless - which in the tight confines of a motorhome makes it really useful. We have had a succession of Russell Hobbes travel kettles which have given up after 12 to 18 months, so it will be interesting to see how long this one lasts.
