I'm sure I've come across this exact same scenario in several tales before, with just a tiny amount of variation to avoid one author being accused of copying another's works, but this was well-written, had decent characters and I enjoyed it. In fact, I distinctly recall a female popping out of a cake in one such similar tale, but that was as a dare/favour to someone, rather, than like in this case, because it was needed (yes, take it with a pinch of salt!), but it was the same case of mistaken address/location. That aside, it was a decent read.

The blurb tells you pretty much what happens, and given that it's a romance and makes mention of Sophie's 'secret', which for romance readers, really isn't that much of a secret, it was bound to end with a HEA.

I liked that neither character was too jaded for their own good, and that neither raised obstacles/objections based on his or her's rights or pride. I also liked that he wasn't arrogant, but decent and warm, and that she was independent and of the non-needy variety. However, the author needs to check her title (and a couple of other niggly things), as there is no mention or evidence in this tale that he was a playboy.

Other than the author's fondness for using capital letters a tad too frequently, and for the too-few commas, which made for some strange interpretations a time or two, this was a nice little tale, with a touch of tame sex, not too much drama, no angst, and with a HEA. What's not to like?

This was a fun, exciting, and fast-paced book. Sophie was a likeable character that I could really connected with. She was spunky and fun with lots of great comebacks. Max, well, what can I say about that hot,sexy Italian. He's every girls dream guy!

This author's strength lies in her characters.
Sophie is a warm, genuine person with a funny quirk or two. Max seems to be a typical business tycoon, but we soon sympathize with him. I especially like the way he teases Sophie about her time fetish. Although the surprise was given away early in the story, the pace escalated and kept my interest through to the end. Recommended for a quick, light read, especially if you like delicious smelling men.

I really liked this book. It was certainly different from the normal romance formula that most novels follow. There were a few more unexpected twists but as usual a happy ending for all.
