Product Description

Product Description

This innovative guide provides easy access to the internal mindset of dogs and shows readers how to use mind instead of muscle in training them. Taking a unique no-force training approach, Catch Your Dog Doing Something Right shows that happy dogs learn faster and have fewer problems when training sessions feel like playtime. Whether a dog is six months old or ten years old, rewards such as toys, food, and games are the keys to learning new behaviors quickly and changing bad habits easily. Fifteen exercises demonstrate how dogs learn and reveal how to change a dog's behavior. Stories, facts, and step-by-step instructions make this book easy to understand. More than a training manual, it introduces a world where dogs think, problems disappear, and happy relationships flourish. February publication coincides with the Westminster Kennel Club's Dog Show, which takes place at Madison Square Garden in New York. There are 35 million dog owners in America.

problem puppy! 15 Jan 2010
Format:Paperback
Got this book as a last resort for a puppy who refused to be house trained. Dipped in to that section and within 3 nights we have good results. Will keep for future reference for other areas of training needs which will crop up.

Great resource manual 15 Dec 1999
By Deirdre Mora - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Mass Market Paperback
Excellent book! I bought it directly from Krista in AZ, she really knows what our animals are thinking! This will help the novice and those just touching up on dog communication skills. The breathing, centering ideas are similair to TTouch principles and REALLY work!

An easy, fun way to train ourselves and our animal friends 4 Mar 2000
By Aimee Williams - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Mass Market Paperback
Krista's technique takes a common sense approach and a gentle way for our animals to learn "acceptable" behavior. I have brought 3 of my dogs to her classes - based on this book - and have seen dramatic differences in their behavior. Mostly though, this book helps the human companion learn how to work with and listen to their animals. I hope more people take on this progressive approach to non-violent training. The energetic healing chapter adds a new dimension to behavior therapies.

5-Star Dog Training Book 28 Sep 2005
By Sheron M. W. Steele - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
We rely on the expertise of others who take their work as seriously as we take our own, because we cannot be experts at everything. Krista Cantrell is the expert I (as an educator) recognize: Learning Styles evaluation for dogs-well, duh, of course! Individualized Educational Plans (IEPs) for individual dogs-How lucky could your dog get to have this quality educational attention, learning diagnosis, and training consultation! How lucky you and I are to have found such an organized master trainer who is so able to communicate practical exercises, so that our dogs are safe in our often unsafe human world. So that we don't worry so about them. So our dogs become family members who are better loved and welcomed than we imagined possible. It's all in her book. Catch Your Dog Doing Something Right is THE book to read.
