Review

The illustrations are brilliantly drawn... a lot of fun. (Bookbag)

Wonderful, expressive illustrations and a humorous story with true child appeal. (Peters Gazette)

Big, bold illustrations by the author add to the story. (School Librarian)

Will keep youngsters enthralled. A witty text with strong illustrations make this a gem of a book. (Carousel)

This is a totally wacky tale, but that is the beauty of it. Expect fits of giggles at storytime. (Library Mice)

Hilarious... gorgeous brightly coloured illustrations. (Guardian)

Plenty of emotion and drama in this story of two young puppies trying to survive. If you love Michael Morpurgo, you will enjoy this. (Sunday Express)

Will guarantee giggles from younger readers. A glorious picture book that is as loud and zany as... well, as an alligator dancing in a sequined skirt. Encore, Encore! (Booktrust)

I bought this for my Niece as she has the first book in the series and loves it. Although I've not read this with her, she still absolutely loves it. If the artwork and story are half as good as the first one then the kids are in for a treat.

This is a book that I had already read for my kids at the local library. A very funny story with great characters.

3 year old loved this book 17 Jun. 2014

We got this out of the library, based on the very eye catching cover and we were not disappointed. Foxy Dubois is down on her luck. She has to find a way to make some money and fast. When she spies a "so you think you can boogie" contest with a golden egg for a prize, she invests the dastardly Alfonso to be her partner. There's only one catch, the contest is open to birds only. Foxy and Alfonso don't let that stop them, and when they wow everyone on the dance floor and win the golden egg, Foxy thinks she has hit the big time. Until she drops the egg and realises, it was made of chocolate. Foxy makes a quick escape, as the dastardly Alfonso plots his revenge. This was a hilarious picture book, that kept my almost three year olds attention from the first page. We loved the film noir feel of the illustrations. I am still hearing quotes from this book. I think I may have even spotted a Thelma and Louise moment in there. If you have a kid who really appreciates quirky humour, you will love this book.
