This is an excellent book, explains the fundementals but also explains more complicated concepts such as standard deviations in a way that is easy to understand and useable.

great book, i just started university for a biology degree
and hadnt taken maths at alevel - immeditely felt behind
this book starts with simple concepts and moves on the reall difficult stuff
but explains in an easy way
also has questions to check learning
i would recommened to anybody who feels there maths skilss arent up to scratch

I'm doing an OU degree in Natural Science and couldn't live without this book as a refresher course or just as a dip into reference book.

My only criticism is it could do with more examples to try but that's a minor niggle and maybe the publishers would bring out companion books in the future.
